Although I'm a Canon user, I'd pick LX3. That was actually the camera that I recommended Jerry months ago. I really like it, with the ability to play with some manual controls, compact and most importantly the retro design. It gets my vote.
However, please bear in mind that LX3 is about time to be replaced by new LX4 sooner or later. Be that as it may, LX3 will still be a good purchase with the ability that it is able to pull out so far.
Does he buy the camera yet? I'm wondering why some people can get it about RM1550 but that shop(Lumix) give me RM1760 after discount. I can't wait to buy it and have photo shooting time with you guys, if you don't mind:)
If you don't mind to get it online, you can try http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=1760 and have them post it to your Aus address. It's quite cheap and reliable. My friends and Hua San also used that site. You'll get it like 5-7 working days. AUD474 excluding postage.
If you decide to purchase it from Malaysia, make sure you bargain enough. Ask for freebies, etc. Most importantly, ask more about the warranty.
Jerry hasn't bought the camera because he always delays and late in almost everything. Hahax.
So, have you bought it? Just to let you know that LX5 (they skipped number '4', happens all of the time) is just being announced. No dramatic changes though but would still be a good update.
Justin!:) But i thought they have not yet announced the date to release LX4. But thanks for the update! Like what you said, LX3 is still a good purchase.
For the question you asked, it's a surprise. Hmm.. 10/100 surprise. Nah, whatever. Haha :p

If you have bought any camera, then just leave this behind. You have a camera in hand and you're good to go!
